BIO

I am a Melbourne based artist and photographer who works with digital and analogue photography. In 2018 I completed a Diploma of Photography and Photo Imaging at Northern College of the Arts and Technology in Preston, Victoria. Recent group exhibitions include Binary at Noir Gallery, Monochrome Memories at Magnet Gallery and the recent graduate exhibition at No Vacancy Gallery, Melbourne. My career as a supervising make-up artist on Australian film and television productions spans over thirty years.

I use photography as a means to document the world around me. I enjoy the process of examining a subject and translating its essence through the photographic medium. My approach is intuitive, yet my objective is to capture my subjects and locations with varying degrees of emotional charge. My photo-essays often explore the binary of darkness and light, both literally and figuratively. I am greatly inspired by the works of American photographers, Mary Ellen Mark and Bruce Davidson. In addition, the lighting design and cinematography in the works of Italian-American directors such as Francis Ford Coppola and Martin Scorsese are also of great influence.
